Weather, Landscape and Seasons

"I bind myself today to the power of Heaven, the light of the sun, the brightness of the moon, the splendour of fire, the flashing of lightning, the swiftness of wind, the depth of the sea, the stability of the earth, the compactness of rocks." — from the Prayer of Saint Patrick

Landscape: ever changing and also ancient thoroughfares of Bush, Open Plains, Estuaries, lakes that come and go (Eyre), Rainforest and Southern Forests. Eastern and Western Australia. Charts accumulated in hard copies on computer cover decades cited in fictional work.

Seasons; of data from Meterology Department, as far as charted.

Also personal research Notes (Bird Log and Diary) 2007- 2011 excerpts ( a few);
Drought times have brought many flocks to the coast; have been going through 2 to 3 x 5kg bags of wild bird seed feeding them; there's no food inland. Feeding 100 to 200 birds per day. These are dawn and dusk feedings in front yard
Watching them elsewhere to see what they do throughout day
Eagles rise before the sun (Bangalley Headland and Nth. Palm Beach to fly up Hawkesbury; fish !). Winter; 5.00am, Summer;
Also around; falcons, kites.
Breeding kites; Nth. Palm Beach 1983- 2011
Breeding Falcons: Nth. Palm Beach; 2008- 2011 (near ferry wharf)

2010 Spring: with the return of rains and breaking of the drought, that will by Decemeber be floods, many of these large flocks, have disappeared, obviously returned to their 'home' skies, trees and grounds.
